Both the school and the Vietnamese government authouriites require that all teachers have a BA and proper English language teaching certificate; either the CELTA or equivalent.


This is a direct quote from the ILA Vietnam website. I thought you did NOT need a BA to teach in Vietnam legally. Can someone straighten this out for me?

There are interesting articles in the papers at the moment about teachers' legality. Two of these are as follows:

19 Sept Vietnam News page 4
20 Sept Phu Nu Page 12

The article in Vietnam News yesterday basically says both a BA and a Teaching qualification are necessary.

I would only take these articles as an indication and wouldn't necessarily believe any individual supposed fact quoted in either of these two articles.
