hi
our daughter (23) is looking for single or shared accommodation in madrid. What's the best publication for finding a place ? Can anyone recommend an agency ? Is it best to look at ads (flat share) in shop windows, like in London for example ?
While she's probably got her own methods n sources, as a parent i feel i might try to help out/contribute, with your help naturally. Also, what would she be paying for a single/studio apartment say within a 20 minute commute of downtown madrid. What would she be paying for a share in a similar location ?
Any advice from people on the ground there would be greatly appreciated. I will pass on whatever info you guys can offer.
Thanks loads

Have a look at this website.... http://madrid.loquo.com/
...itll give you a good idea: bear in mind that stuff is a bit thin on the ground right now, what with the arrival of all the Erasmus students, so all the landlords haul out their hard to rent rooms/sheds/cupboards for silly money, so this is about as expensive as it gets. A studio/one bed will go for around 650+++ , much better to get a decent sized room in a shared flat (400 to 450 and youll be in something superb and have some people to go out with too, but you can find something nice for 350) |

Moore is very correct. I was having a hard time finding a decent place so I placed an ad on luquo website (for free) looking for a shared flat with WiFi and cable and native Spanish speaking roommates who were okay with a little English every now and then. I rec'd so many calls, I had to remove my ad after only two days.
I'm paying 320EU/month + utilities but you can find less expensive without much of a problem. I live near Atocha which is about 20 min from Sol, etc.
You're a good parent to be helping her. Trust me, every little thing counts when making a move like this.
Hope this helps,
