Hi guys,
I just had a couple of questions about obtaining a Working Visa in Japan.
I'm from Australia and I'm planning to arrive in the next 6 months under a Working Holiday Visa for a year.
I have completed a CELTA course and will finish a Postgraduate Diploma is TESOL in a few months with a reputable university in Australia. The fact is I don't have a degree and I was able to get into university due to me doing the CELTA.
I've heard you need a bachelors degree to get a work visa, would my qualifications be enough to satisfy the authorities considering the Postgraduate Diploma is higher than a degree anyway?
Thanks for your help.

I dont know how you got to do a postgraduate diploma with no degree done first but CELTA is not the same thing as a degree and a postgrad diploma is not a degree either. having a postgrad diploma doesnt make you as degree-qualified graduate.
You need to have completed a three year undergraduate Bachelors degree in any discipline. Even a one years teachers diploma is not sufficient for a work visa if you dont have a degree.
None of this is needed for the working holiday visa, but only for a sponsored work visa. Check with the Japanese embassy about what they will accept but the immigration website says that you must have graduated from college and have an equivalent qualification to a degree. |
