|

I am applying for a WHV which is a Visa that is initially 6 months, and can be renewed up to a year. My questions is for my return airline ticket, should I get a ticket for up to 6 months, up to one year, or should I get an open ticket? For those who are in Canada and got their WHV, how did you do this? If you get a ticket for 6 months, and you end up staying for one year, don't you have to pay a fee to extend your ticket? Also, will the Japanese embassy accept an open ticket? |

Get a one year open ticket. You usually have to pick a date, but can change the date for a small fee, or depending on the airline, can change it for free. Yes, you must have a return ticket. Renewal of the WHV is pretty much automatic, just requiring you to do the necessary paperwork. Look at it as a one year visa that you have to go through the hassle half way through. |
