As for the real reason moonraven has buggered off, i'd suggest she's been banned or she's pushing up the daisies. Either of which suit me fine... |
A bit over the top in my opinion, but to each his own, I suppose.
When she was posting on Dave's, even though her style and tone may have left something to be desired, I found much of what she wrote to be thought-provoking, informative, and pretty much on the mark. I miss reading her posts on Dave's. |

Thought provoking in that her posts made you think was nuttier than a fruit cake.
And about as informative as wet paper bag filled with faeces. Kind of how i always pictured her actually. I guess she believed the old adage that if you say something with enough confidence people will believe you. I really don't think that making up 'facts' and then abusing people who disagree with the invention is in any way 'informative', but each to his own i suppose. |

If she were here Matt, I'm sure she would write:

Not seeing the forest for the trees is another predicament that passes for being informed. |

Some of us internet veterans have seen online abuse raised to a high art before, and I think Moonraven qualifies. Moonraven posted 3098 times. That's impressive. I would also say that she did have informative things to say. She was a bit free with terms like "gringolandia," but that was more of a bias than "making things up." |

I much prefer Moonraven's informed, erudite style over Matt's bellicose, ignorant abuse. He reminds me of Cowboy Pete, and similarly, I expect his greatest contribution to this board will be his absence |

There was a Yank ship in port last weekend. Unfortunately I didn't know, or I would have stayed home. The only girls that go out while a ship is in port are the slappers. You always know when a Yank walks into a club because your eyes start to water. What do they use to apply cologne? A bucket?
What is it with the way stink propogates though still air anyway? When a real stinker gets onto a bus, it only takes about half a second for the entire bus to stink up. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the north Queensland 'parkies' are the smelliest creatures on earth - they don't bathe for years on end, and clothes aren't washed - just 'rested' between extended wearings. Add in the tropical climate and you haven't suffered until you've sat next to one in an enclosed space. |

Aramas... the Argentina forum (as long as I have been a part of it) is not like that. Go flame and be rude elsewhere. If you want to "take the piss" out of a group or nationality... please do it in good fun.
I couldn't agree more with ElNota. The Argentina forum has always been free of mean-spirited bashing & flame wars. Please confine your militant hatred for Americans to other fora. You will find many people in the General Discussion who share your views. It never ceases to amaze me how someone can turn even a benign thread about bidets into another opportunity to trash Americans. |
Interesting grip you have on reality...rather moonraven like in fact...
Ignorant abuse?- You already have a monopoly on that pal. |

Is that the best you can do? Ooohhh! Yanks wear too much cologne! Lock me up in Guantanamo and beat me with a wet towel!
Well Matty Boy, I would quote some of your obscenities, but then I would have to give a rodential buttock. You're just not that significant. Suffice to say, you have proven yourself to be a vile little man and I look forward to your imminent departure |

Actually my quoted comment regarding visiting Yank military personnel was rather restrained under the circumstances. I didn't even mention the local uni student who last year had a bottle smashed in his face, was then stabbed in the neck twice from behind and had his throat cut - by two visiting US Marines (one female) in a local nightclub. In general they're not highly regarded around here. I hear that the same is true in several other parts of the world.
You'll have to excuse me if I don't frolic amongst the 'friendly fire', clutching the stars and stripes to my breast and batting my eyelashes adoringly when the Yanks are in town. Besides, I couldn't possibly compete with such a distinguished gentleman as Our Matty

I'm inclined to agree. Once one becomes aware of a poster's political persuasion, one learns to read between the lines. It's a bit like watching Murdoch TV, but without the bare-faced lies.
However, on an English teaching forum, posters should at least try to display a reasonable grasp of the English language. I have no objection to being insulted or abused on this forum provided the post is at least mildly clever, interesting or informative. Moonraven certainly manages that. Unfortunately, Matty Boy's monosyllabic vitriol does not fall into that category. I shudder to think that impressionable minds might someday be exposed to his peculiar linguistic habits. Let's all hope that he meets a nice latino and settles down to a quiet life of vaseline and tennis porn |
