Has anyone ever heard of a school blacklisting a teacher? I know a teacher who was told that he was blacklisted by a private school after a contract dispute with a franchise owner. Is there such a thing formal or informal in Japan as a blacklist that prevents someone from getting their visa sponsored and receiving a teaching job? |

As far as I know, there are 2 private language school "associations" in which top managers of various schools have meetings to talk about policies and tuition settings and who knows what else. I know because my former (Japanese) boss used to tell me about some of the issues they discussed. I really don't know more than that. It would be possible that if the school in question belonged to one of these associations then he/she could be "blacklisted" but that would only be among those particular member schools. I don't see how this could extend to immigration though! |
