I currently don't have internet at home and it sucks. Do you remember a decade ago before you had a mobile phone? Now could you live without one? I'm the same with internet. Serious withdrawal. |

I can't remember how I used to meet up with people pre-mobile phone. Like, if someone was gonna be late, did we just stand around waiting for them?
And I know I resisted Internet as a passing fad well into my college years, which means I must have used the library's card catalogue to research things.
But then the card catalogue fell into such disuse that large chunks of it had been removed I guess as bookmarks or for note-taking. So I don't really know how I used to research things without the ease of google word searches...
If there were no Internet at my work, I guess I'd have to do actual....uh....work? |

The internet and mobile phones are great. They really do help me to make better use of time, but I don't know what I do with all the extra time I am supposed to have. I still seem to have so much to do. The new job I just started does not have computers for teachers, so I guess I will have to do more real work, or.. spend time talking to my colleagues that only speak Turkish and don't seem to want to talk to me. The challenges that we foreign teachers face... Everyday is still an adventure, this is why I like it so much. Peace |

mobile phones do my nut in. Especialy when drunken mates in England text you at 12.00 at night (their time) only to wake you up at 2.00 o'clock in the morning. I hate people who talk for extensive amounts of time on the mobile phone when you are out with them. Before mobile phones people made more solid plans and stuck to them so that they couldn't change them. When I was in England and I would meet people I used to purposefully turn off my mobile phone 2 hours before meeting so that I they couldn't change plans.
The Internet, however, is great. You can get loads of information on loads of things, promote your own music / writing / pornography and everything. If you want to, you can go on message boards and be as obnoxious as you want safe in the knowledge that you won't get punched! Plus MP3 share programs are the best things ever. My baby loves me, I so happy, happy make me a modern girl, I got my money, I brought a doughnut, the hole is the size of this entire world. My whole life looks like a picture of a sunny day. |

Both of these inventions - mobile phone and internet - are quite clearly satanic in origin.
Mind you I rather like the way we can access radio on broadband.
