|
|
I've been off badly sick recently, and had a lot of time to think about how long I want to stay here, or not, as the case may be. I've just renewed my visa (as in this week, it lasts until Nov 06) and was wondering if its possible to get a re-entry permit, go home for a few months and then maybe come back a few months before my work visa expires and look for another job.
Does anyone know how long these last, or are they strickly for two/three week holidays?
Thanks very much. |

The re-entry permit is valid as long as your visa is valid. The only problem now is that if you have a valid work visa and are not working on it while you are out of the country there is the risk that immigration will invalidate your work visa while you are gone for more than 3 months.
I would check you have your visa locked in before you go home for six months and expect to start work again when you come back. the goalposts have recently moved to stop you doing this and avoid abuse of work visas to take long holidays. |
