Hello...

Sorry in advance if this is the sort of generic message that annoys people on boards like this, but I'm a bit of a newbie.

The situation is this. I'm a 32 year old Londoner who came to Krakow a week ago having just done a CELTA course. I also have a degree and spent 10 years in the film business.

The trouble is that I really need a job teaching English and also a place to live (I'm crashing on my friend's floor). I'm not fussy about where I live, so long as it's reasonably close to the old town and isn't a complete rathole, so if anyone needs a housemate please get in touch.

Work-wise, I have dropped off my CV at a few places, but if anyone knows of any school that need people to start straight away, likewise please let me know.

I'd also be keen to meet with anyone who fancies a drink and can tell me about life in Krakow, advice on different schools, which are good and which bad etc. I already have friends here and various things going on, so don't worry about me being too much of a 'limpet'.

Very much like this town. Not sure what's going on genetically, but ALL of the girls look like supermodels, and seem to like the English.

Assuming this site is not one of those that automatically deletes email addresses like friendsreunited, my email is [email protected]. All help appreciated, and thanks in advance.

You have friends in Krakow and they didn't tell you to come earlier? You should've begun your search a few weeks ago. I don't mean to be discouraging, but that's the truth. I just offered some advice to another guy who posted today, so check that out. Beyond that, dropping your CV off at a few schools won't cut it. You must go to every school that you can find. If all else fails, do private lessons galore. Powodzenia!
