I just got back from a 2.5-week trip to Asia. Although it was only a brief trip, I oddly enough found myself feeling pangs of culture shock within a short time of arriving...less than a week. When I was teaching in Asia years ago, I'm sure it took a couple of months for culture shock to set in. Is it normal for culture shock to hit you much faster when you return to the same country or countries at a later date? |
