Thanks for all the replies. I think I will try teaching it to all the students. When I mentioned sex ed, I was just thinking about preventing pregnacy, AIDS, STD's and so on. I was not going to go into how to get the best orgasm or anything like that, although I am sure it would be an interesting class.

Where can I find teachable lessons on this, or info to construct lessons.

Should I split the class into boys and girls, and let the other FE (a girl) handle them, and any questions that come up. I mean, some of the girls here look at me and start giggling when I ask them a question. I can only imagine what would happen if I said sex to them. Something is likely to explode.

Another topic, I would like to give a good lecturing on is AIDS. This seems to be a horribly misinformed topic. Has anyone else heard the blacks gave it to us, and gays are damaging our society further by spreading it story. I almost wet my pants laughing whena group of educated adults told me this in a straight face. They did not think that heterosexuals could be responsible for the spread of the disease. I was shocked. Lets here any other stories on it, or on subjects that have been twisted much the same,
thanks
Cody

I agree that it is high time to broach this important topic to middle schoolers in the class room....

What the... Shocked This takes the biscuit. It's just surreal.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. First PFNM's thread blithely assumes that a Foreign Expert is the right person to be dealing with the delicate matter of sex ed with 16-25 year-olds, then Tong Dawei ups the anti to include 13-16 year olds.

I really will have to dig out my TEFLA certificate (the A stood for Adults last time I looked) and find the bit where it says I'm qualified to teach sex education. To children. In a foreign language.

I must have been ill the day our course covered that. Are you going to use props?

Ok. Rant over. You guys obviously have an interest and (I'm hoping) an ability which is planets away from my cosy little world where I teach, er, English, to grown-ups. Good luck, you strange, strange men. Confused
