I will need a spousal visa for my mainland Chinese wife in Taiwan next year. Will this be a problem? Can anyone give me some useful advice or had the same experience? Any information would be appreciated. I have had one Chinese/Taiwanese recruiter say this is "impossible or a real headache to deal with" and wash his hands of me. Is this the general attitude of the Taiwanese and should I look elsewhere?

This is going to come across really harsh but it is the official policy of the occupational government on Taiwan.
The racist and ignorant occupational government on Taiwan view all mainland women as prostitutes. It gets worse, pimping is not an approved occupation for non-Chinse on Taiwan , thus no visa for your mainland wife.
You don't even want to know how the occupational government on Taiwan will treat your children should you have any.
It's not just mainlanders either. Most all South East Asian spouses are treated the same way by the occupational government on Taiwan.
There are ways around it , please email for details.

More importantly contact your elected Representatives, press, friends and family back home. Tell them about the occupational government on Taiwan and the gross abuse of your wife's human rights and yours.
Please read this,

Good luck!

Thanks 'Aristotle' for your reply. It's a shame they harbour so much resentment over there. I guess they are still bitter and twisted about their defeat in 1949, but why blame the mainland women for it? They will only harm themselves(economically) in the long term with this attitude. Happy teaching

Wow, Aristotle, if that is true I will never set foot on that island! I was thinking of going to Taiwan next year, but I guess I can scratch that idea.

Do you have any web site that shows this policy or do you know from just word of mouth? I can hardly believe that it is true for a relatively "forward" thinking place to harbour such backward ideas! Embarassed
