Hi there !!!!
Just a quick quibbling question to quietly question you!!!
My main aim from teaching in China is:
1. To teach English (obviously)
2. Learn Chinese (Mandarin)
3. To stay away from the tourist crowds
4. Have a reasonable social life
I have been offerred a job in Tianjin do ya think this is the place for me...or do you recommend locations elsewhere?
Cheers!

Tianjin, why not Tianjin? I would take it, mate! There are not that many tourists there although it has an interesting downtown area with colonial-style and CHinese structures.
It is reasonably close to Peking (2 to three hours away).
But, since you asked about OTHER places in China: Towns in Guangxi, Guangdong and Fujian can be recommended (in Fujian, actually only XIamen is a good place, the rest of the cities are a blight to see!);
or around Shanghai - Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing.
Wuhan is thrilling too! |

Its always a bit strange signing up to live somewhere where you've never been! But I guess thats the fun...........
I have done some research and Tianjin looks pretty good, seems the expats like living there! |
