I recently found out that I am eligble for a working holdiday visa. How difficult would it be to find work and what kinds of jobs would I be able to get? I do have a years experience teaching english, a degree and a Celta. However it might be nice to experience a profession other than teaching for a while.

Well, Mr. Bond, it all depends on the restrictions of your WHV.

I think it's 3 months per employer? That would make it difficult but you could probably get employers to see this as a grey area.

You can find other jobs, but none will pay as well as teaching (except if you're a Barclays Banker - a real one...well you know what I mean, I hope).

Seeing as you're in the enviable position of being able to work for different companies I would suggest coming over and finding part time teaching work and go to as many non-teaching related interviews as possible.

Attitude and ambition count for more than quals and experience in Hong Kong.

Let us know what kinds of experience and quals you have (more specific) and then the feedback might be more detailed.

Thanks for the reply. I graduated 2 years ago now so besides my degree the only other qualifaction I have is a CELTA. My degree is in Computer science and physics, I dont know if that would be any use considering I have no experience and have no long term commitment.
