Mark, where do you work if you think all of us Celta grads have dead end, low paying jobs?

Does 'none of would say no' process any better in whatever brain you have, Mark? Very Happy

(I sometimes use tricky phrasing to sort the men out from the boys. Wink Laughing ).

Now now,
Let's not misquote Mr. Lloyd. He said (well, implied) that CELTA grads actually DON'T have deadend, low-paying jobs. It's the rest of us who do.

Oops. I meant to type 'none of us would say no'. See, damn tricky, this thing called English. Yes, we all deserve a big slap on the back if not a hefty paycheck for managing to type anything in it, let alone daring to teach it.

And it is always going to be local.

Well, I guess all salaries are local, aren't they? Sos the cost of living. But try this- after rent, food, and necessary bills, I have between 60 and 75% of my local salary left. Most people I'm in touch with back "home," around my age and level of qualifications, have more like 10 to 15% left. or sometimes less. This not only makes for a nice life by local standards, it's actually MORE dollars left at the end of the month than my friends back "home." So if I did decide to move back where I'm from, I guess I'd have the savings to do it with, wouldn't I?

And anyway..

Who the BEEP are you to tell people what they should want, or will want, or whatever. I have a mother for that, thank you very much.

But I, like anyone else, am capable of making that decision on my own. If I wanted to go back "home," I would, and if you think it would create unusual hardship, you are mistaken. But don't be too sure what I will want to do. I'm quite happy where I am, and there are LOTS of places I haven't been yet.

Regards,
Justin

Home is Where the Heart Is - Adrienne Barnathan

We are a circle
where we roam
near or far
it is our home
we are home
Any place
we come to be
just remember
you're with me
where ever we are
we are home
(where ever we are
we are home)
There are times
you look so lost
stand with me
and be a part
of the home
in my heart
our home is
of the heart

Please feel free to make fun of me, or other posters, although I really don't know where you read "angst" in my posts. Nor, were it not for your clairvoyance, how you presume to assign me to a class.

Are you currently teaching, Mark? I hope you have a better time in the classroom than you let on. Otherwise, it would make for a pretty unsatisfying life, wouldn't it?

take care now,
Justin
