I have seen postings from two recruiters - Sichuan Ruide and Neotrinity - offering jobs in Sichuan. Does anyone know anything about them?
Does anyone know a reliable recruiter to work through in Sichuan?
Thank You.

I had a few dealings with Sichuan Ruide earlier this year. I was looking for a position in Sichuan and this agency seemed to have all the answers to my questions. But when push came to shove they had nothing.
IMHO you would be better off looking for a school directly. |

Nearly three years ago, I was offered a job through a joint ozsino/euide partership in Sichuan. The pay was 3000 RMB per month. When I protested the recruiter reminded me that Sicuan was the home of Deng Xiao Ping and pandas. I chose Hefei instes. DUH!!! Xian for me in August. |

I completed a contract with Ruide in april this year.
The booses name is Phillip Zhang. He is not so bad. He has a lot to do with Australia and is also a citizen of Australia. He speaks English very well but he is a Chinese business man after all so therein lies the difficulty sometimes.
However he always took my calls when I had complaints although not much was actually done.
They have a number of assistants that are responsible for the teachers in certain area's. But they are about as useful as *beep* on a bull.
As an agency their main job is to find teachers for the schools and although they dont actually tell lies their truth is sometimes a little shady.
They will do your residency and FEC BUT they will try to hold them. I didnt let them do that and I got mine back.
Check your residency permit carefully because I later found out that the school I worked at was not able to have foreign teachers and although I worked in Leshan my residency papers gave a work address and home address in Chengdu.
They do pay correctly according to your contract and it was always on time. You are required to submit a monthly report to them about your school but its just protocol without any substance. They do not have any control or juice with the schools and it is easier if you have problems to leave them out as they will most likely side with the school.
All problems i had with the school I dealt with myself because the agency reps did nothing. They did have a foreigner who was responsible for teachers affairs their but he was just a show pony.
Basically they will give you a contract and if you sign it then they will for the most part adhere to it but if you have any other issues such as state of accommodation etc then you are best to deal with it yourself. also sometimes the contract they give you differs from what the school wants or promises so sometimes its a battle there.
They usually sent a rep out once a month to check if everything is ok but once at the school they can really do nothing so I took matters in to my own hands with quicker and better success.
Basically agents in China are pretty much the same. The school paid 6000RMB for me but the agency only paid me 4000RMB. so it about making money.
Hope this helps |

Checkmate (and all others) -
Thank you for the advice. Sounds like going to the schools directly is a whole lot better. Just figuring this all out & I appreciate your help.
