Great, 'cept we don't have any advanced classes. They are as rare as a TEFLer with a future. |

Be careful, she might grass you up to the moderator for being unkind to newbies. |

Nice idea to try and inject some festive spirit ,but I think we all know that living as we do in a Muslim country its a day they don't recognize so to them its just another date on the calender .
Sadly that state of mind seems to be rubbing off on to the foreign community as well , at least if Izmir is anything to go by . How many invites have you had to Christmas parties this year so far ? Maybe that should be on another thread
When was the last time you had christmas at home with friends and family ? |

Last year I went to a Christmas Eve par-teh, and had freinds and family round on christmas day for a big ol' Chrissie dinner. Same this year, and we've got bacon. You can even go to the big ol' church in Taksim which has a carol service if you so desire.
Bağdat Cadessi is looking well Chrisified. |

The wife is always trying to get me to go.
I had enough of that as a kid though.
I do however have the Beach Boy's Christmas album and The Phil Spector Christmas Album on constant rotation. |

I have started on the Christmas prep-- shortbread, candied orange peel, sugar plums (my mother's version). I brought back mincemeat and cranberry sauce fromthe US last month. I am cooking Christmas dinner for 12. perhaps mark would like to come too. |

My ev arkadasim is flying back to Istanbul this Sunday for 3 weeks, so our apartment will be so lonely this holiday season I do not feel very christmassy anyway, what with this being the first X-mas as a bachelor in... uhm... 3 years Still, I do enjoy a nice mug of eggnog with a little rum, along with a candy cane or three. Is it possible to have any snowball fights in Istanbul right now? |
