I'v been wanting to move to Barcelona to teach for a very long time.... I'm wondering what my chances are being a certified teacher (4yr degree in education (i studied bilingual education and esl) ) with 2 years of experience in american public schools. I also did part of my student teaching in Mexico teaching English to preschoolers.
My certification also includes ESL.
Do I have any shot at getting a teaching job in an international school or public school?
Thanks for any input. |

I'd say your chances are good if you have your working papers for Europe. If not it's going to be a lot tougher as you'll have to be sponsored by the school. I have a couple of mates who did swing that here (in Madrid), but they are maths teachers (which is very much in demand so can work pretty much anywhere they choose). If you're here on the ground you'd probably have a decent chance. You could try looking up a few international schools in the yellow pages and phones them from the states to try and get a bit of info about whether they'd employ Americans. |
