Hi,

I'd be really pleased if anybody who's worked at Didier School in Warsaw/around Poland could let me know what it's like. I had an interview there and was offered 40zl per 45 min (not brilliant, but better than many) and frankly promised the world by the owner.

It seems a very large school with hundreds of in-company groups and branches everywhere, but nobody I know has ever taught there and the one mention of it on this board is vague (but very negative). I wasn't able to meet any of the teachers. And their office is downright strange.

If their claims are true (huge amounts of work in large blocks of in-company lessons etc, travel expenses, teaching support/training), then I'd be seriously tempted, but I came out of the interview feeling uneasy without knowing why.

It would be great if someone could share experiences here, either positive or negative, I would be much happier about deciding on their offer. Confused

Sorry but 40zlots net per 45 minutes for in-company work is pathetic. At the very least 5 zlots net per 45 minutes below what it should be. I see that Mike Mills school is advertising right now in the Warsaw Insider for teachers and offering 55 zloty net for 45 minutes and that is for in-school blocks. I get between 45 zloty net per 45 minutes (which is OK because the school is owned by really nice people who give me no hassle at all and give me a three hour block close to my apartment) and 57 zloty net per 45 minutes (for a school with no resources and no back-up at all).

I personally have never had any contact with Didier but the description sounds all too familiar. Bosses who promise heaven and deliver hell. Been there, seen that, got the t-shirt. Now I settle for bosses who promise me students, pay me at least the market rate and pay my wages on time. Life is so much easier when you can expect to get what you are told you will get!

I worked for Mehmet/Didier briefly. Very briefly. Avoid it at all costs. PM me if you'd like to know more, but I still shudder when I think of the whole sorry experience. Don't know who comes off worse, the teachers or the clients.

I never worked there but it's one letter away from being an extremely funny name.
