I was wondering if it is possible to get hired by a Thai university from outside of Thailand or do you have to be in Thailand to get the job? I would like to move to Thailand but would like to stay at the university level. I know that the pay is not more but I might go back to Korea or to the U.S. so I would prefer to gain more university experience as opposed to working at a language school.

Any advice?

^ Hi JZer Very Happy

It's not really a black & white thing.

If you have the right quals and apply to the right uni

at the right time, you might get a firm offer over the web.

You can certainly apply and see what happens.

Quite often you'll receive a reply that looks

something like this:

Dear Mr. JZer

Thank you for applying at XYZ University.

We are interested in discussing your plans further.

Please call us at 555 5555 when you arrive

to arrange an interview.

Sincerely,

XXX

Kent, thanks for the information. I will be visiting Thailand in February and I am excited. I am not looking for a job at this point. I will stay in Korea until December but am interested in coming to Thailand in 2007.

I am going to visit Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Lopburi, Ayuthaya, and Puket. Are there any other places that I should visit? Anything that you recommend?

While you're on Phuket, you might want to spend a few days

hopping around on some of the smaller,

lesser known Andaman islands:

If you head north, people usually have good things

to say about Chiang Mai & Mae Hong Son:
