| This thread is being returned to the board absent a whole lot of Off Topic stuff and inappropriate comments posted on it previously. Should that continue, it will be dealt with on an individual basis. Please stay On Topic and away from the insults. |

Since I started the thread, I feel it is up to me to help guide it back to what I had intended.
I realize that people will feel uncomfortable posting their salaries, whether in public or to me in a PM. No problem. Nobody is forcing you to do that. All I can promise is my professional word that I will never reveal your name.
What I am looking for is to compile a list of information related to current university salaries. I can go to JRECIN web site (and others) and copy from what is advertised, but many universities don't divulge that info. I also know it depends on many factors. Sooooooooooooooo.... I started this thread.
The only recent info I have is the 1997 directory of wages from Kansai.
1. If there is anything more current, please let me know, whether from Kansai or elsewhere.
2. If you wish to post privately or publicly, please try to provide some useful background info, such as...
title of the position
degree/experience required vs. what degree/experience you had when you got it
monthly salary separately from bonuses
whether it is a national or private university
That's basically the minimum I was hoping for. Any additional info would be a perk.
I am not interested in comparing Japan salaries with other countries.
I am not interested in discussing part-time jobs.
I am not interested in reading what people feel the job market should be, just what it is, and perhaps what they think it might be (based on some sound reasoning).
Thanks to everyone. |

| Hmmm... I would like to read the bits that were deleted. Anyway, I like what Capper said. Although, I sympathize with the highly qualified. |
