I think I had some sort of small online crisis last year before I turned 32. I was happy when I turned 30-- got drunk, had a snowball fight, and a nice little party.....

Hi guys ... I was reading what TurkishLover wrote a few days back:

Actually, I have found that a large proportion of the long-staying foreign men in Istanbul are in fact passive homosexuals. Why? Because they have far more potential partners here than back in their own countries. You see, in Turkey, the penetrator is not considered a true homosexual. So, there are many "heterosexual" Turkish men here that are more than willing to have sex with these gay foreign men ... as long as they (the Turkish men) are the active ones.

Indeed, in Turkey there are two words for male homosexuals; "ibne" for the passive and "kulanpara" for the active. I suppose it all relates to a society where most girls still have to be virgins until their wedding night.

By the way, I've been here since 1991, but I don't fall into that category of long-staying foreign men described above.

Enjoy the rest of the snow holiday!

Yum, trannies in the streets, men who do men but aren't gay, the Bosphorus, and apparently dedicated students (depending who's telling the tale) ---- it all sounds quite delicious to me.
