I bought a ticket to Barcelona from Chicago for monday, but just thought of a possible complication. Will they give me problems if my ticket is 1 way? I guess I could always buy a ticket to Amsterdam for a month from now, but would rather know if it is neccessary. Anyone know if a roundtrip is a must? |

I came over on a oneway some years back and had prepared proof of onward travel (I had made hotel and train reservations in France that I simply cancelled after arriving). In the end it was completely unnecessary as the customs agents did little more than stamp my passport and wave me through.
Granted things have been getting a little more strict recently but I would imagine that most "Westerners" are rarely given a second look still. If you are worried about it, get a ticket that can be refunded and breeze through the airport knowing whether they question you or not you won't have any trouble.
Suerte,
