hey all
I am moving to Buenos Aires in March. I already have a job lined up and my budget would allocate about 300-400 USD for rent. I have a studio already for just the first month. Does anyone know how much renting another permanent one would cost in one of the safer barrios? I am not really clear about them all, the first apt is in Palermo, which I heard was nice. I am by no means a wimp but I tend to lack caution sometimes, so perhaps I need to be more carefull where I live by myself.
Also I like running in the evening, are there any running groups that anyone knows of? Road races, etc? Is it safe to run alone in the more crowded areas at night?
also, does anyone have any advice re: how much I will pay for deposit, is anyone aware of where a foreigner goes for help looking? Or should I get a share through the paper? Gracias, L |

It's a pain to find outdoor places to run in Buenos Aires. Except on Sundays the streets are too busy and exhaust-filled. However, I have found that going to the parks in Palermo or the Ecological Reserve is really nice in the evening (although the reserve closes at 6). I ended up joining a gym, which is pretty cheap, to run during the week then go do the outdoor thing on the weekend. |
