OK, I've just had this dropped in my lap and I'm struggling for ideas.
I've been asked to prepare some "fun English competitions" for a local school. The students are to be in 3 age groups: 4-6, 6-8 and 11-13. Each age group will comprise of 30-40 kids. I will have 1 hour per age group to run each competition. The competitions are to be individual (i.e. no teams). Prizes will be awarded.
So what on earth can I do? Spelling bee? Too dull. The school has suggested a colouring competition for the litttle ones, but that seems a bit lame.
I was thinking of playing categories/scattergories/petit bac. You know, the one where they have categories such as animals, colours, fruit & veg, places, things. I give them a letter and they have to find a word beginning with that letter for each category.
What else, though?
Any help greatly appreciated as my boss forgot to tell me about this whole thing until today - which is already one day past the deadline. . . |
