Recently had this installed after too many years of cable (its crap) I have to say I'm well pleased with the package and the variety of stuff available .Favourites so far are Dizi max with new stuff like Alias,Deadwood and Lost followed by the History channel and Discovery .The film channels generally show older stuff I've seen umpteen times in the past with one or two blockbusters ,just had an overdose of Godfather 1 2 3 nuff said . I'm interested if other Dturk users have any of the more expensive packages what it includes and is it worth the money and how does it compare with other sat tv options . Happy viewing . |

Hi
I had itinstalled bout 2 years ago ,well worth the money and the film package is ok but some films are repeats from long ago .I heard the gold master sat is a possible option but most of the channals are not in english .
I enjoy moviemax and showtime the most ,not got into dizi yet and retro is mostly dallas and charlies angels .Comody max is ok some old but good shows rerunning there and for the sports fans theres euro sport and extreme and you can even get lig tv as well ,got to be good for some. |

I like watching the reality channel because they have that horrific yet compelling (think: car crash) program about English teachers in Taiwan. |

I became a member back when Digiturk first started in 2001 at the moment I have the film package. I don't know why I have it. Most of the films are cr.ap and even the shows on comedy max are well out of date.
How many times will they re-run friends and Sex in the City.
For all of my bitc.hing I'm not going to cacel it. It's nice to have it and I do enjoy some of the shows.
My top 5.
1. Cheaters....Best show for white trash.
2. Dateline London... Great show and so different to the talking heads on U.S T.V
3. Lost..... Way weird.
4. Pot Black .... Snooker at its best.
5. Will and Grace.... Karen make me cry.
Cra.p 5
1. East Enders...... Pack of bit.ching crying poms
2. Anything on Fox news. (It's gone now I do miss it)
3. Any form of winter sport on Euro Sport.
4. All the films on M.G.M.....Old second rate B grade s.h.it
5. D/Creek...Pack of smart ars middle class white fair bread kids..Boring. |

i bought a receiver last year, so i have about 800 channels-- many of which are blank (need sifre). There are channels in about every language you can imagine. I was disappointed to learn there was not much in the way of entertainment programs (dizi), but I do get the Turkish channels and could keep up with Carnivale and Desperate Housewives on cnbce. I also get CNN int and BBC world and Prime. It is really interesting to see the channels from other countries, though, even if I don't understand them. For example, the news and sports follow a very similar format to western TV. another form of cultural imperialism?
btw, with a reciever, you buy it and the satellite dishes outright, so you don't need to make monthly payments. For my purposes it is and easier, as I dont' care if I see sex inthe city etc. Though I wonder why cnbce hasn't picked it up? |

What's wrong with cable? For my purposes I really only watch sport(read football), Eastenders and the news. Cable is sufficient.
Hmmm there is a thread about sport(men) and a thread about Eastenders. Maybe I should start a news thread |

Agreed, we get the footie, BBC News, Eastenders, The Simpsons, SOuth Park and Ready Steady Cook.
CNBC-E is starting the Sopranos too.
That's all I need.
Let's start another football thread, just for laugh, like.
You know we spend far to much time on this board. |

Fancy going over to the Africian bush and handing out a few dozen boxes of lighters to the indigenous inhahitants ,what a laugh ,break that poor saps heart to see stone age men using modern appliances. What ever next electric light . God what a sap ! Bet he watches you know what on black and white . |
