So what you're saying is that once communism ended then Poland should have gone back to being like Merry old England?

You waste of space.

This is a first, I agree with you!!!

*stamps her foot hard*

Not happy Jan!

If you broswe and come across other forums and happen to see my screen name your see its the same BAD spelling on those forums too its called *none bothered on forum as long as message understood*

Maybe its lazyness i dunno.

How DARE YOU try to use that PATRONISING tone with me!

You really ought to think before you speak.

And btw, a degree does not make an intellectual.

You like Torun right? Been there once msyelf last novemebr for 4 days. Torun university, ok i know 2 ppl whom go their and their really gifted, literally. Its just a shame that the University couldnt be more *done up* to look more attractive. Torun is like polish version of canterbury in my opinion.

It DOES bother me that Poland, where most go to university seem in my opinion smarter than UK students. I will eevn lower msyelf to below their average too. I first emt 4 polish ppl from camp america and they were the ebst mates i made , ever full stop.

Polish ppl deserve better. They have put up with crap in their past history.

I imagine this speaks volumes about grade inflation and low standards, and very little about your academic abilities or lack of.

I would also suggest that if you are perfectly happy to fork out large sums of cash to come and teach in Poland, you are not exactly over-endowed in the common sense department either.

Yes degrees are easier to get these daysn than back in say 1970 but if degrees were HARD to get do you think TEFL would still ask for them? I highly doubt it, supply and demand. None would do it and ppl who would have degrees would never accept such low pay even in a heaven lcoation.

Paul, I mentioned last time. A bit of self-restraint, please, you're among professionals. On one thread you're begging for advice, on another you're saying you don't know the score work-wise and on this one you're critisizing the very professionals you wanted something from earlier.

I'm usually quite optimistic about things, but I'm starting to have my doubts now. Enthusiasm is all well and good, but unless you get your brain in gear your arrival in Torun is going to be a bumpy ride, followed by a short sharp shock, and terminating in you returning home with your tail 'tween your legs moaning how no-one helped you.

Put your brain in gear and listen for a bit, rather than make wise-crack comments and petty risers.
Plus, you ARE right on one thing - Polish students ARE smarter. It's probably because the clothes shops over here aren't filled with chav fashion. Or did you mean "more intelligent?"

How many millions voted for not only George Bush, but also Kaczynski, in recent elections. The "millions can't be wrong" argument couldn't be less plausible if it was being used to advertise Cillit Bang

Doubt my arrival in Torun will be bumpy. Yeh im going to be nervous as hell and struggle probs on first lessons when I start out but that will iron out after a while.

By the way I phoned British council today about COT. Basically said COT is a professional body and that their considered very professional for safe-guarding TESOL courses, so seems great. Basically UK uni/celta, trinity and COT are the ebst to stay with and everythign else is walmart or just down right worthless.
