I get a lot of Mexico-related email for posting my address on this forum, as I'm sure many others do. Lately, I've been getting a lot of bizarre emails and PMs asking me/complaining about recruiters. It got me wondering just how many there are for Mexico.

I'm told that most recruiters work by PM. Sounds reasonable. I can count 3, though one hasn't been on here in awhile. I get the impression there are quite a few more.

Thoughts?

Long time lurker, finally signed up. CWC pitched to me by PM shortly after my first post. He seems to be definitely a recruiter or school owner. Haven't had any others creep out of the shadows.

I sometimes wonder if lots of readers think many regular posters on Dave's are involved with hiring and job placement. I've received PMs and emails -- some emails with CVs attached -- asking me if I have openings at my school. If I had anything to do with hiring at the university where I work, or any other school for that matter, I'd hire myself for a much better paying position than I currently have.

All the recruiters are doing is making me incredibly suspicious. As a result, I cannot decide on a program, because I just assume half of them are trying to rip me off.

After my first post I received PMs telling me about some job in some small Mexica town with some small family saying that if I went it'd be on "good faith" ... but there were no, official details, at all. Not like, anything about the school.

Lilli, you asked about the openings at my school. I did not pitch to you. I told you that we are full for 2006-07. Post the PM and prove me wrong. You are a liar.

CWC,
If you are full for 2006-2007 why did you ask me when I come down for an expense paid interview?

I, too, in my embarassing naievtay, was quickly asked for a resume by cwc. He said he ran the languge department at a school in Campeche, and was hiring for the next school year. Now that I've been around and read more of what he has to say, I wish I had kept my insta-trust in check and my resume to myself. Lesson learned. Also I'm not sure if that's how you spell naievetay. Damn it.
