hi one and all. a little late and dave's has been incredibly temperamental of late and agonisingly slow so i didn't do an earnest search i'm sorry.
i just want to know if there are any banks in the tokyo/chiba area that offer cash cards with visa/cirrus etc symbol on them that allow you to use them in ATMs abroad.
i'm not really after a credit card, simply a cash card, but if a credit card is the only option then so be it. if there is a cash card that is usable overseas, which bank(s) provide it and how does one go about getting it (ID etc)?
i would much prefer to stop using my aussie bank account's money when i travel and start using my japanese account's money. or draw on my japanese account when i'm back home in oz. any way to do this with a card of any sort issued in japan?
thanks in advance |

Your Cirrus cash card will work in the international ATM in most post offices. If plan to travel outside of Japan then I would transfer all of your money to the Australian Bank account.
The Japanese Banking system is archic to say the least just use it for domestic use. |

I think all Japanese banks have this option for an additional 1000 yen you can get the cash card that you can use abroad. I got one from Tokyo Mitibishi/UFJ |
