Ok, I think we are all agreed that Istanbul is the coolest city in Turkey, well almost all of us. So where is the second coolest? I've spent a fair bit of time in Izmir and a little bit of time in Ankara. I reckon Izmir is pretty cool whereas Ankara sucks. So my vote goes to Izmir.

This will end up being the most one sided debate ever. I mean Ankara was chosen as the capital because of its location, the fact that no one had cared to occupie it helped.

My vote goes to İzmir for so many reasons, but the most important is sitting back at Kordon in Alsancak watching some of the hottes looking women anywhere in the world go by. Cool ....Hm..Hm.. Are for yesterday..... Crying or Very sad

where does the myth that the most beautiful girls are from Izmir originate from? I'm not disagreeing that sitting in a cafe in Alsancak watching the girls (I mean life) go by is a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. It's very pleasant, I've done it many times. But aren't there equally beautiful girls in Istanbul, Bursa, Adana, Zonguldak, Bodrum, etc.

Hmm, maybe this should be on the men's thread Confused

Or maybe not

Apart from Scotland, England and Oz where are the handsome men from? Wink

To be fair, the only other placein Turkey I like is Kappadokia. Though, I've never been Izmir. I didn't like Antalya, though I do want to go to Van to start a football team. Van United.

Vanspor A.Ş. is the football team of Van in south-eastern Turkey. They played in the top division of Turkish football until relegated in 2000. Their nickname is "Canavarlar" which translates literally as "Monsters" in Turkish. Team colours are white and light blue.

Who would have thought Vanspor would have a wikipedia entry.

They'd have no chance against Van United
