Hey there, I want to buy two tickets for the upcoming Sumo event in Fukuoka in November. I only want two. I've checked a couple of websites, but can't find the info I need. Is it possible to sit fairly close to the action without buying a box of four seats? How much would they cost? What is availability like? Thanks for any advice or help.
Mm

I'm unsure of the ticket prices you seek, but I suggest going for either the box seats....get two other people to join you and I think a box is 40,000 yen with a bento etc. That's only 10,000 each for the day and you're closer. Otherwise, I suggest going for the cheap seats, somewhere around 3000 yen, and take the day off work. Get there early, and sit closer to the action. Most people don't start arriving until late. You can sit in the really nice for free for the most of the day, but during the big matches later on, you'll have to move.

http://www.sumo.or.jp/eng/index.php I did the latter of Canuck's suggestion. I got there early, bought the cheap tickets (they give you info in English, btw) and sat ring-side until we got moved along.
