Let's say that a teacher has his ARC through his spouse (the wife is Taiwanese). They get a divorce and the ARC is cancelled because of it. Can the teacher obtain an ARC through the school he is currently working at even though there is only 3 months left on the contract? Or does the contract have to be for a full year?
What are people's thoughts on this scenario?

Maybe I may be missing the mark here but the ARC I suppose is in part sponsored by or related to your wife or something like that (forgive the phrasing) in the same way that your ARC would be sponsored by your employer. So, if you decide to change employers or get divorced then your new employer (or in your case, the one you are working for) can take ownership of the ARC.

Do you have a working visa or resident visa? I don't know the legalities surrounding marriage. Normally you need this in order to apply for an ARC. Unless you are working illegally, in which case you may be without paddle in a rather sh***y creek!

I would go to the Foreign Affairs Police for advice on this one.

You must have a contract valid for one year to get an ARC. You must also meet all other requirements.
If you have been in Taiwan for up to five years on a JFARC you can get a PARC.
Good luck!
