Seriously, (no really!) working overseas has been the best thing in my life. Well, no I guess I'm supposed to say getting married and having children...but well, yeah, it's been pretty darn great. And while I may not have reached enlightment just yet, I'd say I'm a lot further along on the path than most of the folks I left behind in the US.

I'm sure you'll find it interesting here. There are problems here, like anywhere else. Some of them are related to being a resident alien, others are related to how you deal with the culture and life while you are here. I've had many interesting moments here, both good and bad.

If you want another point of view, check out 'Young Dude's Guide to Japan'. Sometimes it reads like a Japanophile's 'wet dream', but they have some good info at times, and some of the posters have spent some time here (though they tend to be 'down7 on teaching Wink

).

Japan is really what you make of it (though that suburban mall life is slowly creeping in here Twisted Evil

)!
