I will be moving to Barcelona in August to attend the CELTA program. After the program I will need some advice on different areas in Spain that are in need for teachers. Ive heard that Barcelona's demand isnt too strong so it would help to get an idea of what other areas are good. Any suggestions?

Based on my teaching experience in Spain, I have to say Madrid would be your best bet for finding work and finding the best pay as well. BCN is not bad I guess, but you have to give it to Madrid, the work is here. I personally think BCN is lovely but I just couldn't find enough work and being that BCN is not exactly cheap, I was back in Madrid in no time.

I have to agree with you as far as Madrid having the jobs although if you contact the big schools like Vaughan Systems in Barcelona, they will have work. I did my TEFL certificate with EBC in Madrid and although I found work immediately after the course, I was always hankering for work in Barcelona. My resume was sent to schools in Barcelona, I got called in for interviews and I remember Vaughan Systems Barcelona had a lot of hours to offer compared to the other schools. For personal reasons I couldn't relocate to Barcelona but in my experience although the bulk of the jobs are in Madrid, the big schools in Barcelona will have enough hours to offer.
