				| Hello,
I am new to this board and I am a 30 year old American with a BA and a TESL certificate. I would like to teach in Izmir, Turkey starting in the fall. I have no teaching experience abroad, although I taught a two month advanced level English class (56 hours) to Hispanic adults in the Detroit area as a requirement for my TESL Certificate a year ago.

I am currently writing my resume and I would like to know if I should include this as work experience because technically it was a requirement for the certificate, and was a supervised internship. I think of it as work experience although I do not want to make the assumption that an employer would view it the same way.

I apologize in advance if this is a repeat question, but I haven't been able to find the right thread. Any advice or links where I can find this information would be appreciated.

 Thanks

				| I would definitely list it on your resume. A typical four-week TEFL certificate only includes about a half-dozen hours of classroom experience, so you already have about a dozen times more experience than most newbies.
If you are asked about the teaching experience during an interview, then you'll be able to explain where and how you received the experience.

				| Ditto Is650.
I'd list it seperately - but just add a final sentence that it was part of an internship.

Experience is experience - make sure they know you have it.

				| I agree, put down anything that could be construed as teachig experience. I think you should be fine, finding a job. Ask questions in the Turkey forum to get more precise job hunting info. | |
