Since arriving in Japan I've been using a Tu-ka pre-paid cellphone... It's been mostly good, but I think the time has come to move on and get away from the Y100/min price tag for calling out on the silly thing.
I am looking to sign both myself and my wife up.... We are both going to get new phones. Now here's the thing: I'm drawn to Tu-ka because they offer some really cheap prices, and if I buy my cell at the local Tu-Ka shop, I can retain my phone number (that everyone already has).... Even though I have to pay a fair amount of yen to buy the phone....
On the other hand, I can go to a generic electronics store and get one of them 0-Yen deals, and get whatever the heck I want.
Just out of curiosity, what is everyone's experience with the various companiees in regards to: price, customer service, Eigo-de services, and reception/quality? Any love stories? Horror stories? |

Jimmy ...
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Personally I prefer DoCoMo ... I think they have nicer phones and better reception... But that's just a personal opinion. I really don't think there is that much difference between the various companies.
If you're happy with Tu-ka ... And as you say, everyone knows your number ... Then, stick with Tu-ka.
Hope your headache goes away!
