There is also a big regional difference in groceries prices in Japan. I'd say the cost of living where I am is about half that of Tokyo. |

Yep, the idea of Japan being an extravagantly expensive place to live is not really true anymore at least outside of Tokyo. If anything I think things have gotten cheaper in the 10 years I've been here. I certainly have noticed prices exploding in Australia when I go home almost to the point where I'd say it's more expensive in Australia than here. |
