Although seemingly simple, I chose my name because of the very strongly worded speeches I heard when I first arrived in Japan. Over and over I was told that I am "a guest in this country" so I shouldn't try to change it.
I keep using the name because it reminds me of my first few weeks in Japan and reinforces my knowledge of my status in this country. |

Ha! If I were to lecture newcomers to my country that way i would be sent up before a tribunal and forced to do community service. Maybe even jail time. |

I used my real name because I didn't want people to be confused about whether I was male or female. (Of course, people still call me Dennis half the time anyway...).
Nicknames? Tripleaxel, recalling my childhood dream of being an Olympic gold medal figure skater. I suppose that would have been kinda girlie, so there would've been no mistakes. It's not, nor has it ever been, my nickname, but I still like it.
I haven't chosen an avatar yet because I haven't yet had any sort of divine inspiration telling me what to select. I've been toying with a few ideas, but I just haven't put in the time to surf the web and find anything.

My avitar is The Boognish, the symbol of my favourite band, Ween. If no one knows who Ween is you should check them out. Great music.
Canuck2112, In my mind there are three ultimate villans in cinamatic history. In no particular order they are: Darth Vader, Michale Corlione and Bill Lundburg. I agree, never has a role been more perfectly cast. |

| Well, lajzar happens to be a sort of family nickname on my mother's side of the clan. As for the avatar, I saw capergirl's, wanted it, but immediately realised it would a) confuse people between myself and capergirl, and b) confuse people as to my gender. |

I think in a twisted way, we ALL want capergirl's avatar! It really is just soooo cute! |

Rogan - a name used by myself and 2 friends used for ghosting articles in the University mag way back in the subversive 70s
The avatar - a red pegasus is the 'logo/official sign/whatever' of the area in which I live.
Couldn't find red, so used blue |

I guess I should have added my info at the outset.
Shaman - an intermediary between worlds, as ESL teachers often are - in one way or another, at least...
The avatar? Initially I chose a centaur (astrology). The first one was too large and the second one simply wouldn't take. I've always had an affinity for the big cats (esp. panthers), | |
