Read forum, want to fly to China next month. Got Bachelor's, TEFL, taught Taiwan 3 years, kids, adults. I prefer college students at University. How to get a university job?

I was going to get an L visitor visa, go to Shanghai, visit buxibans and colleges, sign contract and do a Z visa border run. After reading forum, that plan out the window. Now my heart is set on some university in some warm southern province (Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, etc).

You know best online list of schools and colleges in southern provinces? Dave has no good list. Buxiban.com has only name. Have to Google every name to find address, phone, website, email. Other websites full of agents and recruiters I don't trust.

Prefer not to apply to online want ads. Many want ads are posted by recruiters, agents or bad schools suffering high turnover. Even Dave's China want ads are suspect because many ads tend to be repeated each month-- not real job openings, just desperate schools and recruiters fishing for new victims?

I would hate to sign a bad contract for a year, then find many colleges have great job openings that are not posted online at Daves, etc.

What is best way to land a sweet University gig in southern China? Email resume and cover directly to each school website/email? How to find them? Respond to online job postings and hope for the best? Razz

Your understanding of job ads is way off beam. The reason why jobs are repeated are NOT due to desperate recruiters, agents or schools. Quite the contrary, there aren't enough teachers available. Demand far exceeds supply. Why don't you pick a good recruiter (yes, there are some. Don't choose a base school agent) or a school that appeals to you, and fire all these questions you've been asking here on the forum at them. Then compare the responses with those from here.
