I found out too late! This school is notorious for firing foreign teachers unexpectedly and without due reason.. then, the process seems to be that the owner claims damage to the teachers apartment and other false accusations as a 'reason' to not pay the teacher for the hours worked the previous month. In my case there was a large amount missing from my pay on pay day and when I asked for the balance the owner was too busy to meet me, and fired myself and another teacher the following day.
The school holds 20 days salary and therefore owes me the missing amount from the previous month plus the following months pay.. a lot of money, a lot of teaching hours! Apparently this has been going on for a few years! The labour office's response was "AGAIN??" How is the school still in business? Well, I guess when you don't pay a teacher a large sum of money and then hire a new teacher that has no idea... it's money in the owner's pocket right??
So... take care. Everything was great and the owner was friendly and helpful, especially when I was not living in the school apartment. I made the mistake of moving in to find out that she was entering the apartment (which I paid rent for) without my knowledge. When I made a request to ask me before entering my private space, her attitude changed. Shortly afterwards I was fired. I think she picked the wrong gaijin this time, I expect my payment and will go through all of the legal processes to get it but what a headache... Mad
