Hey there.
No problem to get jobs here, or in most other countries for that matter.
I'm Dutch myself, and I've never had a problem with getting a good position anywhere.

A degree is still the #1 requirement, so if you've got one you're set.
As a non-native speaker I also try to sound as 'native' as possible. It's not really necessary, cuz I've met quite a few Dutchies with huge accents that still taught English, but it's just a personal thing for me to try and be as proficient as possible in the language that I teach (taught in Holland as well btw).

You won't have any problems finding a job, as long as you don't focus on the issue of being a non-native speaker too much. It's not important anyway, as long as it doesn't interfere in how we do our jobs. Judging from your post I reckon you'd be an excellent teacher, so good luck to ya.

Thanks again to all of you.

I'm really overwhelmed by your replies and by now I have decided that I'm definitely going to give China a try.

And about my accent, people tend to think that I'm English so that should be fine. I must admit that when I get tired I loose my 'native' accent a bit but it is something that I'm aware of so I should just keep an eye on it.
