Hi,

I am really confused and need some advise, I have been reading throught he forums and cant really find a specific answer.

I have no degree I am 19 years old and live in NZ.
I have applied for PKC which do not subsidies visas.
My fiance's parents were born in Japan, should we get married first to get the appropriate visa?
I have read that you can only use your WHV once and thats it. what if i want to travel elsewhere?

Please help if you can!

Thanks guys!

You can stay for a year on your WHV and if you want to travel in that time, you have to get a re-entry permit from the Immigration office. After your visa expires, if you want to stay longer you will probably have to get married, yes.

You can get the WHV between the ages of 18 and 30. It is a holiday and travel visa and not to be confused with a fully sponsored work visa, which requires a degree.

What is PKC?

What is your fiances nationality? is he Japanese? In which case you can apply for a spouse visa. if hes not and has a foreign passport and was born outside Japan you would get a dependent visa.

The WHV is a 6 month visa which can be renewed ONCE, giving you twelve months in Japan. You can leave the country on a WHV but you MUST get a re-entry permit before you leave or your visa will become invalid.

You can apply for working holiday visa to Japan only once, but can apply separately to work in other countries such as Canada or the UK. If you are turned down you can always re-apply later.

i think for australians and new-zealanders the whv can be renewed twice, giving you up to 18 months, but that might be just for australians.

New Zealanders only get one renewal or 12 months. Aussies get 2 renewals.
