A well balanced forum I would have thought, people on both sides of the fence. That's what it's all about. However the downside is that both of you are generalizing. The truth is some Taiwanese are friendly nice people, some are not, some of the food is good, some is awful, bits of the culture are interesting, bits of it are not interesting. Also it shows some teachers had a good experience, some not so good. This would be the conclusion of any newcomer reading this forum, as it should be.

I still feel the same way.

Your trying to have people censored simply because they don't share your views is wrong. I hope you see that.

As for people who don't like Taiwan or the people here, should be free to express those views.

Ther are lots of regular posters her on this forum that I really don't like at all, but I feel they should be able to express their views, feelings and opinions.

Where I get irritated is when these posters start calling for the moderators to delete posts by people they don't agree with.

This is surprising behaviour to me, particularly because it is coming from educators.

I still don't like Taiwan and the way the local people behave and treat others.

I have, as do others, the right not to like Taiwan. I think the people and culture boring, it's extremely dirty, the traffic and the way locals drive is very dangerous. I don't like anything about it.

Furthermore, I've lived here for several years and guess what! I'm not the only EFL'er here in Taiwan that feels this way. There are many TEFL'ers here that hate taiwan and don't like the culture or people. This is not something that should suprise some of the posters on this forum.

Tolerance of different opinions and views is much needed here on the Taiwan forum.

I've never said that. Re-read what I wrote. People can disagree with me all they want. That is not something which bothers me. However, when people make racist comments, it bothers me. Does it not bother you? I, for one, will be happy to fight against those type of comments at all times.

By the way, I don't have much problem with what you wrote above. It was one of the more well balanced posts you have made. Much better than some of the incredibly racist threads you have started in the past. As I'm sure you have noticed, the moderators delated those threads and posts. For GOOD reason. You can hate Taiwan for any personal reason you want. You kept this post generally personal without insulting the entire country. Fine, if that is your opinion, do it all you want.

For the life of me, however, I can't understand why you are here. I've never stayed one minute in a place I hated. You have been here for years. It's a shame for Taiwan though. Most people don't enjoy have a guest which hates them. And we ARE guests in this country.

By the way, we never heard from you about the degree issue after MONTHS of you encouraging people to do something illegal. It would be nice if you let people know that you were giving faulty and illegal advice, just to be sure that people don't follow it. You do care about that right?

Your dreaming.
Taiwan is now and has been for over 50 years a non nation founded on oppression, corruption, racism and to a great extent -- pure fantasy. Unfortunately many people would rather believe the lies than face the harsh reality that is the modern island of Taiwan. The entire city of Taipei has been created to give the perception of legitimacy to and entire island of illegitimacy and corruption.
They can't bring themselves to do anything about the Republic of Criminals (ROC), it's so much easier to just pretend it doesn't exist, until that is....
Please read this,

Good luck!

It's a good thing that in the real world, people need to hear FACTUAL evidence and RATIONAL reasoning for such arguments. There is no such evidence to even come close to supporting these offensive and ridiculous statements, which is why you are essentially talking to yourself everytime you waste all of our time by posting on this forum.
