|
|
Hi,
I'm currently working in the North of China in a school that completely pampers me, so when a friend asked for advice about schools in China, I have been no help. He is looking at Yantai in Shangdong Province. Can anyone help us out with info about schools there? You know the usual stuff, which schools are great, who to avoid etc.
Thank you |

I worked in Yantai from March to June 2005, but it was in some suburb, called FuShan, approx. 40 min. by bus from the center of Y. However I came as a volunteer to test the waters in China and then moved on to a regular job in Jilin, further up north. In Y. I was at the Hermann Gmeiner School which has ties with the SOS Children's Organization.
I couldn't say which school is great or which one to avoid in Y., although I know a couple from NZ which is teaching at a local school there and I might get some info from them.
Is it a particular school you are inquiring on or are you looking at Y-schools in general?
Before signing any kind of contract, I would request to be put in touch with former or current fts of that school.
If you need any specific info on Y, pm me - although my experience in Y is by now almost a year old.
There is also an English teacher I know from some online course who currently seems to be teaching for a Korean school in Y.
Ok, feel free to get in touch.
