We're leaving Turkey this summer and selling our car:

-2001 Fiat Marea 1.6L ELX
-57,000 KM
-Automatic Trans.
-Dual Airbags
-AC
-Good stereo
-Very Good Condition
-Dark Green
-14,000 Lira

This is NOT a "blue plate" tax-free car (good, no restrictions on where you take it or to whom you sell it) but it does have "misafir" registration plate required of foreigners (good if you're a foreigner as you won't have to pay the extra misafir registration fees).

Located in Atasehir on the Asian side of Istanbul. Email me mbd26 AT mac DOT com, or phone 216 456 3443.

I don't think it is as much an issue of "buying" as it is of "owning." A tax-free Blue Plate car has to be in your passport; accounted for every time you leave the country; you must have on deposit in an account an amount equal to the value of the car for the duration of your ownership; can only re-sell to another foreigner.. yada, yada, yada.... a hassle that I decidded was far more expensive then the cost of a "normal" car. But that's just me!

İts not difficult to buy a "bluie" but its really not worth the hassle .Go for a local ownwed car run it into the ground and then sell it back to some poor unsuspecting Turk or even an other dreaded foreign type person . Plese excocuse splling mitakes can1t be arsed !
