Agreed. This is part of what contributes to the Canuck national identity crisis - we more often define ourselves as being 'not American' than anything else.

Did I just make a crass generalization? Anyhow - it's not a Canadian forum, so farketmez.

May I say, for the record, that as someone who observes more than who posts, I've noticed definate personalities in here and I will say that I have not even once thought that anything written by Tekirdag or Almuze was racist - intentional or otherwise. Same with Yaramaz, Entrailicus and DMB, GoLightly and whynotme.

I see Entrailicus as a kind of wise overlord. I've perceived dmb as someone who is very in-touch with himself and basically happy in life. Thrifty, well, I doubt he cares at all what others think of him, but as disgruntled as he is, you have to admit the board is more lively with him back. Kind of like that annoying (but often grudgingly accurate) in-law you can't get rid of.

And Ghost, well, what can I say about Ghost? The apparition is unique, perceptive, and usually hits the nail on the head. Ghost is one of the only posters I've ever seen who continues to refer to himself in the third person.

And the Sheik - brainiac - there's little recourse when he comes after you because he has the mind of a lawyer - logical, well-written, and without any spelling/grammatical errors or even typos. He must be a robot.

All the same, this topic has gone to the dark place. There's little that's worse than being called a racist these days. I know I've challenged my own beliefs many times, especially after living in Turkey. The strong reactions in here are an appropriate response to the degree of insult that was levied by the implication.

Not to generalize about male eye-liner wearers, of course... Cool

But he was a total wiener.
