|

Ok, so this question is about American work visas, but I didn't know where else to ask, so here goes nothing.
Yup, was in Japan last year, met a girl, she wants to come here to do an internship in the hotel business or something along those lines for a year or so. She already has her degree. How possible is it for her to get a nonimmigrant work visa to come to the United States?
BTW, she is a Japanese national, and I don't think I could hack living in Japan another year. |

Hmmm... Is she relatively young? The reason for my asking is that I recall seeing several years ago an internship in New York for young women (under 26 I think). I think it may have been a secretarial type internship though. My point is that the organizers arranged everything (accommodation, visa etc). Might be an option.
Next suggestion is to call the consulate. Good luck! |

It's not likely that she'll be able to get a work visa. Best bet is enrolling in a language school and getting a student visa. |
