Hello!

I am currently working as an aupair just north of mnster, germany. I don't have a degree, but have taken many english and german courses. I have studied german for a year in marburg. my german is at a goethe institute level of b2....I JUST WANT TO TEACH ENGLISH!!! I am applying for a studiumplatz at wwu in mnster, but that will take like 5 years to finish...and i don't know if i have the funds to support myself for that long. Also due to the fact that one is only able to work for 90 days with a studiumvisum!

anyhow, i am just looking for advice!!

thanks

Look, this is what you have to do.....

Since you are already in Germany, you need to hit the pavement and look for a job. I'm not going to say you can't find one because it is always easier if you are already there. Go to language schools and ask if they need someone. Go to your local Volkshochschule and inquire there. You might not find full time work. You will probably be dividing your time between different schools and running around like a chicken with your head cut off. Sometimes it's a matter of just being at the right place at the right time. Be warned that the positions you find will probably not be the best conditions with your qualifications. There are people with much better qualifications and the EFL market is quite saturated.

that's what i thought i needed to do, just wasn't exactly sure.

however, i think my knowledge of the german language will help me greatly. it's nearly perfect....most people here in northern germany mistake me for being southern german!! i alway seem to have to show them that i am american!!!

anyhow, thank you very much! i just needed someone to back me up, if you know what i mean!!

i also have been doing a lot of tutoring on the side...for 15 an hour...which also brings in a lot of dough!!

thanks again!!
marc
