I've accepted a job as an Activities Coordinator with English First for their summer session in Long Beach, CA this summer. Is anyone else on this forum going to be there? I received the job offer on May 12 via email and replied with my acceptance and have not heard anything else from the contact person since. Was wondering if anyone else has input on this. I know that English First, as a large corporation, has a lot of administrative red tape to wade through... the hiring process in itself was lengthy and had some long gaps in communication. I have a ticket to fly out there on June 21, and don't really feel comfortable going based on just a lick and a promise. I don't have a phone number for the contact, just an email address. I'm really looking forward to this and hope that it doesn't fall through. Any thoughts?
p.s., apologies if there are other threads on this, i couldn't get the search page to load on this antique of a computer. |

Hey, I hope you are alright and there by now. Wasting a plane ticket money would be a bummer, wouldn't it?
You said "no contact number"? I wouldn't buy a bus ticket in that case.
English First is apparently a big educational organization with its "SISTER EF ENGLISH FIRST" McEF English First as advertised before in China. Again, I wouldn't buy a bus ticket.
This company has got quite some incompetent organizational structure. In a case of a compliant ..... Good luck to ya ..... and I haven't even mentioned their supposedly Global Head Office in Zurich Switzerland.
Cheers and beers |
