Hey everyone! Now i'm going to reveal how much i know about Turkish lge and culture by making the following pathetic question: Is 'Esat' a male or female name? It sounds male to me, but i just wanted to double check before writing this presentation letter with the appropiate Mr (or Ms). Thank you so much |

Arzu - female
Firat - male
Sedat - male
The others I'm not sure of. My guess is that 'Esat' is male, Oya - female, Nilay - (?), Serpil -male. |

Esat and Fırat are male names
Oya, Arzu and Nilay are female
Serpil is a unisex name but rarely male. |

I've only seen Deniz as a female name, but I've heard it's unisex.
Same for Derya. |

I had a male student named Gorkem last term. The first I'd ever met. |

I love the funny surnames (though none of these beat dmb's student's...)
Some of my favorites are: Alfıstık, Elibyk, Kahvaltı, Gnaydın, p, Gzelel... How on Earth does one end up with Alfıstık or Kahvaltı as surname? |
